The Pentagon will send 200 soldiers from an Army unit in Jordan to help contain violence along the Syrian border. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says they will also ensure the safety of chemical weapons in the war-torn country.
Sens. Carl Levin (D-MI) and John McCain (R-AZ) want more direct U.S. involvement.
