The history behind Cinco de Mayo

Today is Cinco de Mayo and some may think it's just an excuse to drink margaritas.

However, that is not the case. The day celebrates the victory of Mexican troops in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. The victory brought great pride and patriotism to the Mexican people. Maria Anderson from the Smithsonian was here to explain more of the cultural and historical significance of this day.
