Spreading awareness about sports related concussions

The issue of sports-related brain injuries has been getting a lot of attention lately.

A series of deaths, suicides and permanent development delays resulting from concussions has raised serious concerns about student athletes. The President and Founder of The Student Athletes for Educational Opportunities, J. Laffeyette Carter was here to share more about how to prevent concussions. And joining him was 14-year-old 9th grade Urbana High School student Katie Rerko.

On August 5th from 5pm-10pm SAFEO, Allied THA and the Greene Turtle is hosting a free-pass giveaway for a private screening of the film, "When the Game Stands Tall." The event is taking place at the Greene Turtle in DC (601 F St NW, Washington, DC 20004). The film comes out in theaters on August 22nd.
