5 YEARS AND COUNTING!
It's hard to believe. Shawn and I have been here at WJLA for 5 years and this past week the station was kind enough to acknowledge our 5 year anniversary with a complimentary dinner at a restaurant of our choosing. Since we both love to eat we couldn't have asked for anything better!
It's been a good run, but it's not what we received, marking the anniversary, that matters, it's what we've given back. We are both meticulous when it comes to record keeping so when we started here 5 years ago we thought it would be a great idea to keep track of the value of goods and services we've recovered for you.
THE MONEY COUNTER.
In just 5 years, through the stories that we have investigated and the people that we have tracked down,Shawn and I have recovered more than 2 million dollars for our viewers and that number continues to grow. We added the counter to our "7 On Your Side" page but our bosses were so pleased with this accomplishment, the number is proudly displayed throughout our site. A testament of the work that we do for you. It's a good karma job and we hope to keep doing it for many years to come.
Countless times, Ross had to carry a couch or a chair somewhere, or I had to lift rolls of carpet with one hand while carrying a camera in the other...and that's the type of thing you can't place a pricetag upon. Yes, we're well over 2 million dollars back for you, but we are also a few back-aches and muscle pulls shy of a million.
But in the end, it's true. We both hope to keep doing this for years to come.
