Extended Auto Warranty Beware

Beware. You may think you're getting an extended Auto Warranty and end up with a product warranty instead that could cost you thousands. An Arlington woman discovered the hard way. She got an engine additive and got billed 2 grand for a "product warranty". In the event of a total mechanical breakdown the most  she could possibly claim, if she was able to claim engine failure, would be the NADA cash value of her car which is far less than the cost of the warranty. She'd be better off taking the 2 grand and spending it on regular upkeep and maintenance.  Check out the story.

The company promises to cover engine components that break down after you use their product. However, our woman didn't get the paperwork until after she paid some money on a down payment.

The problem is if the warranty is purchased for older cars and if there's any kind of wear that may have occured before the warranty, you're not covered.  If they deny a claim you have to pay to have the engine torn apart to prove your case. Costly! Probably not worth it on an older car with high miles.

Also the return policy is questionable. The consumer says she was told to put all the product in the engine before the warranty is valid. To get a refund you have to return the Dura Lube product along with the "unused portion"...BUT IT'S ALL BEEN ADDED TO THE ENGINE!  The rule also states: "The paid purchase price of Dura Lube is fully refundable within 30 days of the date of purchase less a $75 dollar fee."   We confirmed with the authorized product warranty seller, FIS Trust-Winner's circle,  the actual cost of the product  is only 30 dollars!  So is that 75 dollars subtracted from the $1995 dollar cost of the product warranty? Or from the cost of the product???
DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.  IF I DON'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING I STEER CLEAR.

Comments on Extended Auto Warranty Beware
KC
I just realize I jut step away from getting jacked. I have been getting automated calls to my cell phone for quite some time from this "Winner Circle". I finally answered and they directed me to an operator that sent me to another "warranty specialist". I was told that my warranty had already expired, and been that i just got this car from a private owner about 6 months ago. I though to my self that was possible. The specialist. I was very exited because i've had some problems with my car and the estimates have bben so high that I almost thought that i had to get rid of the car, but this will actuallyu solve all my probles if everything went right and I could fix my car with the warranty. I started asking questions trying to not sound suspisious and ask if my car would have to be under some kind of inspection before getting the waranty and they imediatly said "no" that thay had my vin and everything look good. I also ask for a clist of the complete coverage and he gave me one. than he started to giving me numbers of 5 year or 100k full bumper to bumper for only $2534.00 with the option for 0% interest for 12mos. or even 18mos. witha a $650, $550,$450 down with a $100, or $50 deductable, whith ever pan was most confortable for me. When I said that that was still some what a lot of money for me he even said he had a different company that could give me the same coverage with $253 down and no deductible. with monthly payments as low as $115.56 for 18mos. Wow now that sounded like a good deal. What an IDIOT I was! Every time I ask him something he would say that he had to tranfer me to the "financial officer" who I kept asking questions and i felt some what pressure to close the deal, He then asked me whether I would like to pay with visa,mc, etc...so I ask if it was possible for them to call me withing two hrs, just so that I could confirmed this with my husband and that's when he informed me that they would be closing in 7 minutes nad if I didn't accept at the end of the phone call they would be unable to give me coverage at a later date since they had tryed to contact me several times and this was practicly my last chance, I was also told to take advantage of the opportunity and I it was something my husband and I desagreed on I had 30 days to cancel. Than i ask look my husband is very causious about all this things and the first thing he is going to aks me is "if i knew the name of their company so that he can do some research and he game me the name of the company: "Winner Circle" and so I asked him to spell it for me , and so he did and a few second later the call got cut off and I did not think anything of it until a few more seconds wend by and ithe phone didor t ring again witch it was weird because if the had alresdy made a sale, they would call imedialtly, so I started to google it and I saw all the info below..........................Fortunately God was telling me to check on their credentials online. It initially looked legitimate until I perused a little further and realized the 800 number was always busy. This finally turned on the SCAM light in my brain. The phone never ranga again.
