2nd post since you did not post my 1st one... re: criminals - i did not call Dr. B a criminal. re-read my post "mr. reporter". quite the reverse, i believe you suggested to "amy" that Dr. A is a criminal. Do you have all the facts? NO. Has it ever crossed your mind that one reason to sign an order is simply to move on with ones' life? didn't think so. how many complaints has the dental board rec'd against Dr. B? Perhaps you should publish that figure, rather than the 16 posted against Dr. A vs the thousands upon thousands of happy clients that have come in & out of Dr. A's office. Or was the abusive languarge i used something else... amy, kudos to you, and ross, perhaps you should run a story on Dr. B.

You make a lot of assumptions about the process of telling this story. Also do you think I'm privy to records regarding Dr Alalouf's mental state and other such personal information. The only person who can provide that type of information is Dr Alalouf. Are you suggesting he was in a poor mental and financial state and therefore had to overbill and overtreat patients?

To Ross- Finally something smart out of your mouth, I will. Do you know Ross, do you know his financial state? his mental state? the emotional toll? stipulations to the "agreement"? the settlement procedure? did you try to find out? thought so.

To CCC- It is sad yo have to retreat to using the words "child predator is livng in your neighborhood" to ge people to read what you are saying. Such a shame. Completely understand why you'd have to hit below the belt, Dr. A reputation speaks loud and clear for itself without cheap antics. Keep showing people what you have to do to get your side heard. Only looks better for Dr. A.

To Amy: If you think Dr "A" has been treated unfairly, contact the Dental Board and ask him why he agreed to the order.

What is wrong with those of you attacking Ross for reporting the facts? This is what good journalism is all about. Every parent , ( past, present and future) has the right to know what Dr A has been charged with, by the BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINERS. He even agreed to the fact he overtreated those patients . If some of you do not think we should know about this then again, that is the same as not wanting to know if a CHILD PREDATOR IS LIVING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! If this investigation took 6 years to complete, then I would say the board is completly biased and tried to protect a BUTCHER for way too long! The 2 minutes spent on this story is not sufficient enough. More people need to know so they can make an educated decision about having their child treated by Dr. A. For those of you who still choose to have your children treated by him, my advice.....always get a second opinion before you adversly affect your childrens dental health for the rest of their lives.

I am also a victim of Verizon and their 3 package deal and free tv, which I'm sure you assume by now I haven't gotten. It was bought in the time alloted but were told that we weren't eligible. Then we called back and recieved a clain #. Still nothing. I was so glad to hear someone stepped up and the media got this out. Maybe now we will all ger our tvs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Seems very funny to me that a lot of people here are mad at Ross. Is it soooo bad that Ross told a story about a dentist who is about to have his license suspended for 4 months? The same dentist who sent a letter claiming to just be taking time off to further his studies and spend time with his family.

Folks, clear your heads for just a moment. Maybe this Dr. A is the world's nicest and friendliest person. Maybe he's even a great dentist...but the fact of the matter is...he agreeed that what he was doing was wrong and he accepted his punishment...Ross is letting everyone know this. Now, some of you may not care about the 47 page consent order, but is it REALLY SO BAD that Ross is letting others know...others that might actually care to know about the order and what DR. A has agreed to?

hey ross, you are one funny guy! geraldo rivera & jerry springer should be proud. dr. alalouf is one of the most compasionate human beings alive and we are pelased to send our 2 kids there and will continue to do so.

It seems to me Dr. Coll is the expert on the MD Dental board, the other dentists are dentists that the "victimized" patients went to for 2nd opinions. It is very common for Dr's of all medicine to have different opinions. Second opinions vary from first opinions ALL THE TIME. I just think its unfair to punish or in this case, try to RUIN a mans reputation for being proactive in dental care. Ross-are you a dentist? did you go to dental school and learn all that terminolgy in the report? I sure didnt but I did do some looking into as you suggested, and if parents are so concerned they should to. Dr. A is being treate dthis way because and only because he built himself a GREAT practice that the "haters" of this community cant handle. Simple as that.

There was a reason why the investigation took 6 years to complete, it was not as black and white as one would think. The other dentists were Dr. Coll and Dr. Barren, thats it! Not many if you ask me. Ross-as far as being an ambulance chaser or skewing the report, thats how you built up your name. Thats why we love you. You are the "soap" opera of news. No one really takes you seriously, I tune in for a laugh every now and then but your ratings are low and we just hope you stick around a little longer for amusement purposes only.

TO AL: This was the lead you are referring to: TONIGHT, A LOCAL DENTIST WHO TREATED LITTLE CHILDREN IS IN BIG TROUBLE WITH STATE AUTHORITIES. SOME PARENTS WHO TRUSTED HIM WITH THEIR CHILDREN ARE OUTRAGED THAT HE WAS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO PRACTICE, EVEN AFTER HE AGREED TO HAVE HIS LICENSE SUSPENDED. 7 ON YOUR SIDE'S ROSS MCLAUGHLIN INVESTIGATES. It says 'EVEN AFTER AGREEING TO HAVE HIS LICENSE SUSPENDED" That's what upset many parents. One who called me tonight was upset because she took her child to him last week and would have liked to have known about this. Also PLEASE RE-READ THE BLOG. This story was about the Dental Board's actions. The other side is DR. ALALOUF'S. HE CHOSE NOT TO GIVE IT. As for satisfied parents..that's not what this story is about. Dr Alalouf is paid to do the right thing and hopefully that happened but this is about not doing the right thing and unsatisfied parents whose claims were justified by A 6 YEAR INVESTIGATION by SEVERAL DENTISTS who offered SECOND OPINIONS. Please read the CONSENT ORDER. It is posted on our website.

A number of things bothered me about this report tonight. In the "tease" on the piece, it stated that a local dentist was practicing even though his license has been suspended. However, during the story it was stated that the suspension does not even start until Friday. When you do this, you are just misleading potential viewers and makes the rest of your story suspect.

Also, this was an extremely one sided report. You acknowlege above that you did receive comments from parents who were pleased with the care their children received from Dr. Alalouf but this was not mentioned once in your report. It is this type of one-sided journalism which makes it hard to trust your reports.

My child has been a patient of Dr. Alalouf for nine years. I have never had any reason to doubt the care we have received. I am very cautious about the care our child receives; we will continue to have our child be treated by Kids Teeth and look forward to when Dr. Alalouf can return to practice.

Ross McLaughlin calls himself a journalist but his reporting is biased beyond belief. In collecting information for his report about Dr. Alalouf, this "journalist" refused to hear from supporters of Dr. Alalouf. Instead, Mr. McLaughlin or shall I call him Geraldo only presented one side of the story. Where did this guy get his degree in journalism?

Thank you for the story. Four years ago, when new to the area, I was in Dr Alalouf's office with my 3 children ages 5 to 11. He told me my children's teeth were in very poor condition and all 3 children had cavities and perhaps needed crowns. He said "every quadrant of your children's mouths have cavities and problems and you will need to bring the children back 4 times to get their teeth worked on". I was very suspicious because he did not show me any cavities and my children had never had issues before. I paid out of pocket expenses to have the children's teeth examined at TWO other local dentists who both told me the children's teeth were fine. Four years later, still no cavities or crowns needed. I feel very fortunate to have been able to afford independent exams.

I chose to stop having my four-year-old treated by Dr. Alalouf when he insisted on me signing a waiver of a recently passed medical privacy law and refused to tell me what information he wanted freedom to divulge.

Do you know that xrays are NOT the ONLY way to detect decay. Cavities on the top chewing surface of teeth do NOT show up on xrays unless they are extremely large. Parents feel guilty and should if they had taken care of their childrens teeth they would not have to go through this. I want to see all of these kids records to see if in a year they had any cavities because if they are there they only get bigger. I see the facts you have posted and understand how it looks . But it does not talk about he autistic 18 year olds behavior. How good of an exam were they able to do on the child in office???
