Putting the Boots to Them

PUTTING THE BOOTS TO THEM!

This is the time to find new ways to save money and that may mean you have to get pushy with customer service representatives.  I'm talking about getting the best deals on cable bills, phone bills and lowering your credit card interest rates.  You'll be surprised how easy it can be if you're persistent.

Cable and phone companies constantly send out promotional offers, if you get one and it doesn't say you have to be a new customer to get the deal call up and ask for it. Don't stop with the first customer rep who will likely say no, take your case up a notch to the supervisor. I recently got Verizon to honor a deal on it's "Freedom Plan" it was offering it for about 50 dollars less a month than I was paying and the offer came addressed to me.  It said now is a great time to switch but I didn't have to because I was already a customer. No where did it say you have to be a new customer. After 40 minutes on the phone and 3 reps, I got the deal. I'm saving $600.00 this year on my phone bill!

You can do this with cable and your credit card company too to get a lower rate. Tomorrow at 5, Tuesday November 18 we'll demonstrate how to do it.

Their is only one stair way going up the foggy bottom/gwu metro station stop. At least 300 people attempting to go up the shared stair way. A dangeous situation and a fire hazard!!

Liked credit interest reduction story. Next step is simple refusal to pay 3rd party after creditor writes off account. Book is $15 "No to 3rd party debt collectors" available online at www.proselegal-ez.com. This book precipitated a Supreme Court brief questioning "Third party interference with plaintiff's due process rights to what is due". Case #70-10789 filed May 07, 2008. Case description is available on www.dueprocessinstitute.org/Supreme.htm. I am not an attorney. Gene

Anyone have any luck with Bank of America? I have been a customer for 10 years and currently have a 11.99% APR. I called and asked for a lower rate, but was told that they can;t lower it because there is nowhere on the account stating that they can do that/ The only time (so they say) that they can lower the rate is when there is a promotional offer for my specific account.

I spoke to three different people and all said the same thing. I asked if, in the past 10 years, there were EVER any offers on my account to lower the rate, I was told NO by all.

They told me straight out after I asked, that YES, they were willing to lose me as a customer instead of lowering the interest rate by ANY amount.

I know times are tough, but really? No budging at all? Good thing I have an offer from an alternate card company to transfer my balance for a lower rate. So much for EVER using Bank of America again.
