Chris Horton is Special on and off the field. The seventh round draft pick out of UCLA has had a strong impact on the Redskins success and the rookie remains extremely humble. Watch the Skins defensive unit and isolate number 48. He is always around the football. He has a very high football IQ. He has a heart the size of FedExField. He loves to play the game and goes about it with reckless abandoned. He plays fast ,but doesn't rush, reads his keys instantly, gets a pursuit angle and attacks. I first met Chris at UCLA when Dan Fouts and I,( in an effort to research for our ABC telecasts,) would interview him the day before games. The guy is like a kid at Christmas when he talks football. But life hasn't been easy for him. His family in New Orleans was hit hard and wiped out by hurricane Katrina. His Grandfather past away. However, Chris has continued to persevere. He has worked hard to succeed and it's paying off with big dividends. With three interceptions and a boatload of tackles, Chris Horton has made himself one of the top players in the NFL.
