What a Saturday afternoon in sports. The Capitals and Wizards in playoff games on the same day for the first time since April 28th, 1988. It was a split decision.. The Caps showed a lot of heart and determination in fighting off the Flyers. They had plenty of intensity in the first two periods. My big concern going into Game Six was today's third period. The Flyers outshot the Caps 21-6 and they had the Caps on their heels. Sure, the Caps got the win. But the Flyers didn't leave demoralized. I wish the Caps had a stronger finish so the Flyers would be questioning whether they could finish off the Caps in Game Six.
On the flip side, the Wizards had to eat crow in Game One. DeShawn Stevenson said LeBron James was overrated. It didn't look that way in Game One. LeBron carried the Cavs to the win, with 32 points, including the two decisive baskets.. I believe in the Joe Gibbs philosophy. Respect your opponent and don't stir the pot. If you're going to talk, do it after you win the series. It's only Game One and the Wizards could still come back. But the Cavs sent a message. It's going to take more than talking, to win this series.. Hopefully, the Wizards have learned a lesson and let their play do the talking.
