The Redskins' Fan Appreciation Day is tomorrow. The gates open at noon.. Head Coach Jim Zorn is scheduled to address the fans at 1:10pm. An intra-squad scrimmage will take place at 2pm. As a preview, there was a lot of hard hitting during today's morning practice. The Skins were working on 3rd down conversions and their goal-line offense.. Sometimes the offense scored, sometimes they didn't. A give and take from both sides of the ball.. The Skins suffered a couple of injuries today, but nothing serious. Rookie Malcolm Kelly tweaked his hamstring and has a sore knee.. I don't think he'll play in the scrimmage tomorrow. Also receiver Anthony Mix tweaked his hamstring. I also saw Ladell Betts with a huge ice pack on his thigh. Not sure if he'll be in there tomorrow.. LaRon Landry is still working through a hamstring injury, so he won't play. There's a recurring theme. It's the hamstring. The Redskins may need to slow down a bit, because there are a lot of hammies that are getting pulled out there..
After practice, a lot of fans were begging for quarterback Colt Brennan's autograph. I know Redskins fans want a signature from all the players. But there was definately a passion and excitement when they called the name of the Skins' 6th round pick and former Hawaii star.. There were a lot of fans yelling for Colt, not just a few. Also Chris Wilson left the morning practice carrying the shoulder pads of both Jason Taylor and Cornelius Griffin. Usually the veterans demand that a rookie, carry their pads. But Wilson played last season and played well. He's not suppose to do that. I guess when Jason Taylor and Griff tell you to do something, you do it.
