Hi, there Pet Show peeps! We’re so excited for our very first blog post – PAUSE FOR APPLAUSE!

The show tomorrow is jam packed with fun stuff and cool guests! Kicking off the show tomorrow we give you an update on our very first Pet Show adoptable, “Omid The Miracle Dog” and his new family. Omid joins us on set with his new Mom, Banafshe Alipour, who tells us all about how different Omid’s life is now after being rescued off the side of the road outside of Tehran, Iran and brought here to the Washington DC area. You can find Omid on Facebook here.

Next, we meet a couple of people who have taken an artistic approach to curing homelessness of animals. Marina Dervan and Mark Barone join us via Skype to tell us all about their organization “An Act of Dog” and how they’re memorializing dogs who have lost their lives due to overcrowding in animal shelters. Check them out on the web at www.anactofdog.com.

Kelly Hartshorn from Metro Mutts DC joins us to help kick off the holidays on The Pet Show with beautiful gifts for dogs and cats from Upcountry Gifts. The gorgeous ribbon collars and leads were my favorite!

Our Black Friday giveaways are AWESOME!!! We’ve got TWO major gift sets this week that you can win just by answering our trivia questions which will be posted on The Pet Show Facebook page TOMORROW! See below for the breakdown of the “Cat Lady” and “Dog Dude” gift baskets!

Finally, the brand new CEO of the Washington Animal Rescue League, Mr. Bob Ramin, joins us with one of the cutest (and soon to be biggest) Adorable Adoptables that we’ve ever had on the show! Bob comes to WARL from The National Aquarium and truly is a joyous asset to an organization that is an integral part of the DC community.
