The Pet Show this week is guaranteed to pull at your heart strings.
Joining us from the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is Jenny Hubbard. Jenny's daughter Catherine was one of the 26 angels who died on last Dec. 14, when a lone gunman opened fire in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
Jenny tells us the story of her beautiful daughter Catherine, and how Catherine's innate love for animals has inspired them to create the Sanctuary in her honor. To learn more about the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, and how you can help make this family's dream a reality, visit them online at www.theanimalcenter.org or on Facebook.

Stacey Evans, Chair of the Animal Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, catches us up on what's happening in the Maryland legislature as it pertains to animals. Stacey also makes a plea to other attorneys in Maryland to pitch in and help to fight for the rights of our furry, and not so furry, friends. Sandra Navarra returns from the PGSPCA with an Adorable Adoptable named Algernon. This little scruffy dude is sure to catch your eye! Sandra also catches us up on all the cool things PGSPCA has coming up, including their latest adoption shows and low-cost spay neuter clinics.
And finally, our Fur Fix this week comes to you from Nationals Park! The place truly 'went to the dogs' last weekend, and Dr. Katy tells us all about it on one of her latest stories on ABC 7 News.

The Pet Show this week is full of adorable adoptables!
Lisa Carrier Baker, founder of DC Actors for Animals, joins us to tell us all about the Beltway Barks event that they are holding on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at American University's Eric Friedheim Quadrangle.
Inspired by New York's Broadway Barks, this event aims to highlight the partnership between DC's theater and rescue communities. Numerous local rescues will be featuring their Adorable Adoptables at the event, including Adopt A Boxer Rescue who brings the incredibly cute "Snuffie" on set!
On June 22 and 23, the 10th Annual Potomac Valley Dressage Association Ride for Life returns to the Prince Georges Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro. Founded by Pat Artimovich, a 10-year breast cancer survivor, this event raises critical funds for the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center.
Dr. Katy will be the Master of Ceremonies for the black tie gala on June 22. Joining her on set this week is Lizzie Strauss of the Great Falls Championship Vaulting Team to tell us what we can expect at this event. For tickets and more information, go to www.pvdarideforlife.org.
Gregory Pike joins us with another Adorable Adoptable, and tells us all about the Partnership for Animal Welfare. PAW Rescue operates primarily out of the Maryland area, and has weekly pet shows. They are looking for volunteers to foster animals and help out at shows. Tune in to see how you can help.
And finally, ChristieLyn Diller, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Washington Humane Society, joins us with the Adorable Adoptable "Strawberry." ChristieLyn tells us all about the Bark Ball, happening on Saturday, and what to expect at the fabulous black-tie event.
While the tickets are sold out, you can still participate in the online auction. Details are on the website. ChristieLyn also tells us all about how Calysta, the stolen kitten, was found and how the MPD played a crucial role in her recovery.
Don't miss out on all these cute faces, and your chance to take one (or all) of them home!
