Personally, one of my favorite things to do during the Fall season is to head out to local the pumpkin patches and corn mazes. Now that it’s the first full week of October, I thought it would be a good idea to share a list of locations and attractions that may be in your backyard, which you may not even know about. Please feel free to post additional locations and events that are not included in the linked lists below. My wife and I live in Southern Maryland but were raised in Frederick County, MD so we have been to many of these locations but a few that we really enjoyed are…

Bowles Farm  in St. Marys County, MD (We went to this farm this past weekend.  It had a great Maze, fun stuff for the kids, and you can pick your own pumpkins from the field.  Also, they had a nice tour of the farm and got to see cotton field in bloom.

Temple Hall Farm & Regional Park in Loudoun County Virginia (great corn maze quite possibly the best I have been to yet)

Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch at Homestead Farms in Frederick County, MD (pick your own pumpkins on this true country farm)

Spider Hall Farm in Calvert County, MD (beautiful scenic hay rides on this quaint farm)

Greenstreet Gardens also in Calvert County, MD (pretty much you name it they have it, note though that if you are taking little ones to the corn maze during the day may be less scary)
