It's a Contrail

Well more and more evidence that the mystery "missile launch" 2 evenings ago was indeed nothing more than a contrail at sunset over the Pacific.  Here was what the Pentagon had to say today.

Pentagon spokesman Col. David Lapan said today, “With all the information that we have gathered over the last day and a half about this condensation trail (contrail) off the coast of S. California on Monday night, both within the Department of Defense and other US government agencies, we have no evidence to suggest that this was anything other than a contrail caused by an aircraft. ”

Look at the image I've attached.  This was a day several years ago when the high atmosphere over the southeast was very moist and the sky was filled with contrails from jet aircraft.  Here's the link I wrote about yesterday with more information about the contrail and also the aircraft and flight from Hawaii to Phoenix that was the likely source of the mystery.  Mystery now solved for me.

How about you?  i bet now there will be talk on the Web about "coverups" and all sorts of conspiracy ideas.  It was, and is still a contrail.  Keep looking at the sky and I bet you will see similar things here in the DC area.  Again if the plane is heading from west to east, just around sunset and the high atmosphere is very moist, the exhaust from the high flying (7 miles high) jet will produce a contrail which may grow in width and with a trick of the mind and the way we see the sky, appear to be a verticle plume rather than the horizontal artifical cloud it really is.
