Storm ending in D.C. after very heavy snow
Overnight: Lingering snow ending breezy and cold
Temperatures: falling into the 20s | Wind: NW 10-20
Thursday: Partly Sunny breezy and cold
Highs: 32-37 | Wind: NW 10-20
Friday: Cloudy chance very light snow or flurry nothing big
Highs: 34-39 | Wind: light
The storm that brought the very heavy wet snow is rapidly moving off. The timing of the storm was almost perfect with the rain changing to heavy snow about 3 to 5 p.m. and now ending at 11 for a general total accumulation of 3 to 10+ inches south to north.
The very wet snow has brought down power lines and caused widespread outages and I think because of the delay in getting out of D.C., the snow rates of 1 to 2 inches' an hour during the normal rush times the massive traffic jams.
Sunshine back Thursday and a fast moving wave may bring some light wet snow again for Friday afternoon, but anything will be very light and nothing like today.
