High pressure is dominating the northeast today bringing much cooler air with highs only reaching the lower 40s. Tonight will continue to be cold with lows in the 20s in the suburbs to near 30 degrees inside the Beltway. A few added clouds will be noted on Friday as a warm front moves to the west of the area. Temperatures will also be a bit warmer near the 50 degree mark.
This weekend, a cold front will move towards the region from the west. Saturday will feature mild temperatures in the upper 50s under partly sunny skies. Sunday the cold front will move through the entire east coast, bringing the chance of rain from Maine to Florida. For our area, rain will be moderate to heavy at times with upwards of an inch possible throughout the day. Let's just say if you are wanting to get outdoors this weekend, Saturday appears to be your best bet.
