A strong push of warm air blows in today along the heels of a gusty southwesterly wind. Early morning clouds will give way to sunshine with highs into the upper 80s, possibly threatening record at BWI Thurgood Marshall and Dulles, 85 and 87 degrees. The downtown record is 91 degrees and will most likely remain secure. Overnight clouds roll in with thunderstorms likely as a cold front draws near. Some storms could be strong to severe.
Morning storminess tomorrow will give way to scattered showers, gusty breezes and cooler temperatures. Highs Tuesday will peak in the lower 60s, but will struggle to get out of the low 60s Wednesday under mixed skies. Thursday brings the return of sunshine with another batch of clouds likely into Friday ahead of our next weather maker. Highs both days peak near 70 degrees. Have a great day!
