Flash flood watch for D.C. today

Localized areas of flash flooding are possible today with heavy rain in the forecast. Rain chances will continue through Friday.

This Afternoon: Cloudy Skies, Heavy T-Showers

Highs: Low 70s | Wind: SE 8-12 m.p.h.

Overnight: Showers Likely

Lows: Mid 50s to Low 60s | Wind: E 4-8 m.p.h.

Wednesday: Mostly Cloudy, T-Showers Possible

Highs: Low 70s | Wind: SE 5-10 m.p.h.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through late tonight for the entire viewing area. Areas of heavy rainfall will be likely with up to 2 inches of rainfall possible in some locations.

Tonight, showers and storms will continue to be possible with lows in the 50s in the suburbs to lower 60s in town. Wednesday will see more of the same with highs in the lower 70s and scattered showers and storms.

Thursday, the chance for storms will still be likely through the day with highs a touch warmer in the mid 70s. Friday will not have as good of a chance at near 30% for showers and storms, and temperatures will be warmer in the mid to upper 70s. The weekend ahead is looking nice, with highs near 80 degrees each day under partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance for a few more storms in the afternoon hours on Sunday.
