Off and on hefty rains once again a threat in D.C.
Today: Periods of Sun with Intermittent Drenching Rains
Highs: 70-75 | Wind: E 5-10
Overnight: More Showers/Storms Likely
Lows: Around 60 | Wind: SE 3-8
Tomorrow: Mix Clouds/Sun, Scat'd. Storms
Highs: 73-77 | Wind: SE 3-8
A storm system parked overhead continues to spin, keeping a moist southeasterly for the region. Locally heavy rain could cause streams and creeks to quickly rise out of their banks along with the potential of flash flooding in urban and low lying areas.
While the official reporting station downtown picked up a paltry .01” inch of rain, many places west of the city saw upwards of 3 inches of rain. Today brings more off and on showers with the potential of drenching downpours leading to flooding. Highs once again peak in the low 70s with a few peeks of sun possible.
Tomorrow the low begins to move east and there is a better chance for some more periods of sun with scattered showers likely in the afternoon. Friday brings an even slighter chance of rain during an otherwise partly cloudy day. Highs late week peak in the mid to upper 70s. The weekend starts off dry with sunshine and warm readings in the 80s both days. There is a alight chance for a late-day storm to close out Sunday. Stay dry and have a good day.
