A stationary front lies to the west and will remain there through the next couple of days as high pressure to the north helps to block it. Today will be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the lower 70s. Tonight, partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures can be expected with lows in the upper 40s in the suburbs to mid 50s inside the Beltway. Patchy fog may be possible in the early morning hours particularly in low-lying areas.
Wednesday will bring a few clouds and warm temperatures once again with highs in the low to mid 70s. Thursday should see more of the same weather with highs in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies.
Changes are expected by Friday as a chance for a few thunderstorms exists west of town through the mountains. Otherwise, Friday will remain partly cloudy and warm with highs in the low 70s. The weekend ahead features mostly cloudy skies each day along with a chance for showers and thunderstorms as a cold front and area of low pressure moves through the Mid Atlantic. Highs should reach the mid 70s each day.
