More scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today with highs in the lower 70s. Heavy rain may be possible and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect through this evening. Severe weather may also be possible this afternoon with large hail and isolated tornadoes possible. There is now a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9pm tonight for the entire D.C. area. Tonight, isolated showers will continue to be possible with lows in the mid 50s to lower 60s.
Thursday will continue to have a chance for showers and storms with highs in the low to mid 70s. Friday, the storm chances will be a bit lower but there is still a chance for isolated afternoon showers and storms. Highs should reach the upper 70s Friday.
The weekend ahead should feature dry conditions to start on Saturday with highs around the 80 degree mark. Sunday will be nice the majority of the day with highs in the lower 80s, but there is a slight chance for a few storms in the afternoon and evening hours.
