Day two of high heat in the Nation's Capital with a third on the way!

Today: Hazy, Hot & Humid

Highs: 94-98 | Wind: Light & Variable

Overnight: Very Muggy & Mild

Lows: 70s | Wind: Light & Variable

Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy, Steamy, Strong PM Storms

Highs: 91-96 | Wind: Light & Variable

Heat Advisory is in effect from Noon until 8PM for the metro area from the Bay westward to Frederick Md., Loudoun, Fauquier and Rappahannock, Va. and point in between. High heat combined with high humidity will lead to heat indices low 100s.

High heat and humidity continues once again today with the mercury shooting up to the middle 90s and heat indices in the low 100s. The steam-bath continues tomorrow with temperatures in the 90s and the chance for a couple of strong afternoon storms as a cold front comes through. By Thursday and Friday, expect a little less heat and humidity with highs in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies.

To acclimate to this sudden heat remember a few safety tips: lighter clothing, hats, plenty of water; air conditioning or shade breaks, minimize strenuous exercise during the heat of the day, and be sure to check on the pets and the elderly to ensure that they’re staying cool in this dangerous heat as well.
