The unsettled weather pattern will persist for much of the week with some steady rain possible for mid-week.

A storm in the upper-atmosphere will be the big weather story for much of the week, providing opportunities for more raindrops. Today we should see some sunshine with temperatures in the 70s. Other than a few sprinkles early this morning, the best chance for showers will come during the afternoon hours.
By tomorrow, the storm aloft will stall across the central Appalachians. This will allow a surface low pressure center to develop over the Carolinas and funnel moisture from the Mid-Atlantic into the listening area. This will mean some steadier rain is likely Tuesday into Wednesday with perhaps 2 plus inches of rainfall. Highs will be in the low 70s.
Thursday and Friday will be drier days with some sun as the storm aloft slowly crawls away, but there could be a few isolated showers around with readings in the 70s again. It won’t be until Saturday that we may squeeze out a totally dry day here. Keep the umbrella handy and have a good week!
