High pressure moves off the coast and will shift winds from the southwest pumping in the steamy air beginning this afternoon. Expect a warm afternoon with highs in the low 90s with an isolated storm or two possible north and west of the metro area. Overnight lows slip to near 70 degrees making for a muggy and warm night.
This “Bermuda High” will sit over the western Atlantic for much of the new week, bringing hot and muggy weather with record challenging readings with highs topping out near 100 for Wednesday and Thursday. A daily thunderstorm threat cannot be ruled out, but chances remain slight. Friday a cold front approaches bringing added clouds and the chance for a few storms. Temperatures will slip back into the 80s for the weekend, with a daily threat of a thunderstorm or two. Stay cool and have a great day.
