Our hot and humid pattern persists!

Today: Stray Shower, Clouds Mix w/ Sun, Strong PM Storm

Highs: 88-92 | Wind: SW 5-15

Overnight: Any Storms End, Muggy

Lows: 70s | Wind: SW 5-10

Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy, Hot & Humid, Risk PM Storm

Highs: 88-92 | Wind: SW 5-15

Another morning and another cloud deck with the slight chance for a few am shows, especially west of town. Otherwise a partly sunny, hot and humid day is on tap with a few afternoon/evening thunderstorms likely. While it doesn’t appear that there will be a widespread outbreak, the storms that do develop could be strong to severe.

More thunderstorms are possible on Friday afternoon as a cold front approaches from the west. The weekend should feature improving weather conditions with slightly lower temperatures and somewhat drier air. Our only forecast concern revolves around the speed with which the cold front passes through the region. Our best estimate is that it will become a bit drier on Saturday and noticeably drier on Sunday. If the front moves a bit slower than anticipated an isolated storm is possible for Saturday.

Yesterday’s official high temperature in Washington was 90 degrees. This is the 11th time this year temperatures have reached 90 degrees or higher.
