A Heat Advisory is in effect from Noon until 8pm tonight as heat index values may reach 105 degrees. Highs should reach the upper 90s today with dew points in the 60s, making it feel more humid. A couple of storms are possible in the Potomac Highlands and some may drift deeper into the metro area. Tonight, skies will be clear and temperatures still warm in the upper 70s, possible even low 80s downtown.

The high heat and humidity will last through the day tomorrow with highs in the 90s once again and a better shot for a couple of strong thunderstorms. This as a cold front will move closer before stalling overhead through the weekend. This will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms along with temperatures that won't be quite as hot for Saturday and Sunday. Highs should reach the upper 80s each day with a risk of a few thundershowers. A shot of more seasonable air arrives for next week. Stay cool and have a good day!
