Not so sunny Sunday for D.C., dangerous heat returns Tuesday

Unsettled weather will remain across the mid-Atlantic until late Monday. Another round of dangerous heat will arrive Tuesday with highs in the middle 90s and heat index readings near 100 degrees.

Overnight: Scattered Thunderstorms ...Warm and Humid

Lows: 65°-73° | Wind: W 5-10

Sunday: Mostly Cloudy, Showers and Thunderstorms Possible

Highs: near 85° | Precipitation: 50%

Monday: Showers and Thunderstorms

Highs: near 90° | Precipitation: 40%

Warm and humid conditions will remain across the mid-Atlantic for the overnight hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will dot the radar as lows fall into the middle 60s to lower 70s. With increased cloud cover on Sunday, highs will be in the 80s with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some may become severe, with another round of storms expected Monday.

Hot and very humid air arrives Tuesday and Wednesday with highs jumping into the 90s. Heat index readings my approach 100 degrees. A Heat Advisory may be issued by the National Weather Service.
