A southwest flow and warm and muggy weather continues today, keeping temperatures above average. A few showers passed to the northwest early this morning but at this point I just expect to see a partly sunny sky for much of the day with toasty and muggy highs in the upper 80s. Later in the afternoon though, we’ll see the chance for a few thunderstorms to develop ahead of a cold, possibly lingering into Friday night. It looks like storms will be limited, but any that do develop could be strong to severe.

Behind the front will come (finally) a refreshing change! Our winds will become northwesterly, bringing cooler and less humid weather into the area for the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature highs in the mid 80s with a nice helping of sunshine and comfortable humidity levels. Until then, stay cool and have a great weekend!
