A real steamer in store for DC
Today: Mostly Sunny, Hot & Humid (Stray Mountain Storm)
Highs: Low to Middle 90s | Wind: South 5-10
Overnight: Partly Cloudy, Muggy & Warm
Lows: 60s/70s | Wind: SW 5-10
Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy, Very Steamy, Scat’d. PM Storms
Highs: Mid to Upper 90s | Wind: SW 8-12
A southwest flow and warm and muggy weather continues today, pushing temperatures well above average into the low to middle 90s. Air quality is slated to be Code Orange, unhealthy for sensitive groups. Later in the afternoon an isolated storm is possible in the higher elevations to the west, but the majority of the metro region should remain dry.
A cold front approaches tomorrow and ahead of it an even stronger surge of sultry air will push the mercury near the century mark. The record tomorrow at DCA is 98° and it could very well fall. Scattered afternoon and evening showers are likely along the front. Wednesday will bring noticeably less humidity along with highs near 90, so definitely more comfortable. Mid 80s and sun will carry us through the end of the week. Have a great day!
