The heat will be at the beaches too this weekend, but it won't be quite as excessive.
With temperatures topping out around the 100 degree mark again today, the heat is still making its presence felt across the D.C. area. Even the beaches have reached the lower 90s and should hit the mid 90s this afternoon. What about the weekend you say? Don't worry, as promised, we have you covered.
Mostly Sunny, Hot & Humid
Highs: Low to Mid 90s
Temperatures will begin to fall just a bit as the core of the warmest air moves south. Highs should top out in the low to mid 90s under mostly sunny skies. Heat index values will still range above 105 degrees.
Partly Cloudy, PM T-Storms Possible
Highs: Around 90
Sunday will finally bring a bit of a change with highs back around the 90 degree mark. There will be a chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, so this would be a day where it may not be a bad thing to head home earlier rather than later.
Looking ahead to next week, storms appear to linger around on Monday, but conditions should improve Tuesday through the remainder of the week with sunny skies and moderate temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.
