Drier air will continue to funnel into the mid-Atlantic as high pressure builds just to the northwest. Sky conditions will clear during the overnight hours as temperatures fall into the 60s to lower 70s.
Sunshine and highs near 90 degrees remain in the forecast Sunday, with a touch more humidity as winds shift more out of the south and west. The heat and humidity will build on Monday and Tuesday as daytime highs reach the middle 90s. Heat index readings may be above 100 degrees. A few showers and thunderstorms may pop Monday afternoon in the mountains, with a better likelihood on Tuesday as a front moves across the area.
