Records were broken at Dulles which reached 105 degrees, an all time record, and BWI Thurgood Marshall which reached 106 degrees. Reagan almost tied the record but fell just short as they hit 102 degrees.  Many other cities in the east set or tied records.  Boston was 103

An Excessive Heat Warning remains is across the regionagain Saturday. With the night temperatures only falling into the high 70s and low 80s, the night heat is also dangerous. The chance of some cooling thunderstorms Saturday does increase and the storms should become more widespread than today. By Sunday, the heat begins to break a bit with again the chance of some thunderstorms. But it won't be until late Monday and Tuesday that we feel less humid air come in behind a cold front. On Tuesday the high temperature will be near the "average" of 89.
