After a foggy start in some areas, skies have cleared and temperatures are beginning to climb which they will do through the afternoon hours. Highs should reach the lower 90s under mostly sunny skies today. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are likely with a weak boundary sitting over the region. Storms will come to an end tonight with lows back in the lower 70s. Some patchy fog will be possible again tonight.

Friday will have a great chance for showers and thunderstorms as a front moves in from the west and an area of low pressure will some tropical moisture moves in from the south. Skies should be mostly cloudy through the day with temperatures a bit cooler in the mid to upper 80s. Showers and thunderstorms appear likely with the chance of heavy rainfall in any storms.

For the weekend ahead, a few clouds may linger into Saturday morning, particularly to the east of D.C., but otherwise expect clearing skies and warm temperatures in the upper 80s. Sunday should be mostly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s.
