A cold front will push through the region later today and early tonight producing scattered showers and storms.

Morning sunshine will give way to increasing clouds as a cold front approaches from the west. Hot and humid air will remain locked in place ahead of this front with scattered showers and storms expected to develop mainly during the afternoon and evening. Widespread severe weather is not expected however some of the stronger cells will be capable of producing heavy rainfall within a short period of time.
Shower and storm activity will gradually come to an end during the overnight with temperatures cooling into the low 70s.
Tuesday and Wednesday drier and less humid air will move into place but it will remain hot with highs around 90 degrees.
Humidity and heat will both make a strong return for the second half of the week into the weekend when conditions may warrant a heat advisory once again.
