It may be a little hard to believe but today could actually be a few degrees hotter than yesterday as highs top out near record highs in the low 100s. Obviously the heat index will also be higher than yesterday as the combination of heat and humidity make it feel like it’s between 115 and 120 degrees. There is a slight chance that an isolated storm may try to develop later today but most locations will remain dry and hot. Even the overnight period doesn’t offer us much relief with temperatures dropping off to around 80 degrees. An excessive heat warning will be in place again Saturday from 10 AM until 8PM as we endure yet another extremely hot and humid day. The heat index Saturday will still place us well into the triple digits between 110 and 115 degrees. A couple of cold fronts will impact the region over the weekend with the first arriving late Saturday into Sunday. Another stronger cold front will push through Monday before high pressure builds back into place. The result of these fronts will be cooler weather with an increasing chance for a few showers and storms by especially by Sunday and Monday.
