Heat and humidity continue to build with the threat for a few storms today…

This Morning: Partly Cloudy, Hot & Humid, Scat’d Storms

Highs: 93-97 | Wind: NW 5-10

Overnight: Few Storms, Then Muggy and Warm

Lows: 68-76 | Wind: NW 3-8

Tomorrow Morning: Partly Sunny, Steamy, Stray Storm

Highs: 93-97 | Wind: Bec. S 5-10

A frontal boundary will push through the region today and could trigger off some scattered thunderstorms; some could be strong to severe. Otherwise it will be partly cloudy, hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s. Tomorrow brings similar temperatures in the 90s with just an isolated storm chance. By Thursday extreme heat begins to build with highs near 100 degrees. The high heat will linger into the start of the weekend with heat index (feels like) values near or above 110°.

As the heat builds be sure to practice heat safety tips: drink plenty of water, slow down, stay in a cool place, avoid strenuous activity outdoors, dress in light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and check on the home-bound, elderly and don’t forget about the pets. Have a good week and stay cool!
