Yesterday was the 22nd day of 95°-plus heat, but today the mercury may not make the 90 degree mark. Abundant clouds are anticipated ahead of frontal boundary that will push through the area later today. Showers are likely this morning and storms anticipated by afternoon with some breaks of sun in between. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region under a slight risk for severe weather with damaging gusty winds the biggest concern. Showers and storms taper overnight with clearing skies by tomorrow. Highs tomorrow top out in the upper 80s under ample sun.
The week ends with sunshine and highs around 90°. Into the weekend low 90s look reasonable with the threat of some storms as our next frontal system works its way through. While temperatures remain slightly above average, no extreme heat anticipated in the next week. Have a great day.
