A line of severe storms with torrential rain cut a narrow swath through central Fairfax and Arlington Counties then across SE Washington and right through central PG County Friday night.. Tremendous lightning volume accompanied the cells. A man and a woman were struck by lightning in Arlington... and initial reports says the woman sustained life-threatening injuries.
Tomorrow will be partly sunny and hot with only a slight chance for isolated afternoon thunderstorms. A cold front will arrive Sunday afternoon and generate more widespread showers and thunderstorms. But until they form, Sunday will be partly sunny and hot, as well. The Delmarva Beaches will be partly cloudy over the weekend with highs in the 80s with a chance of late day thunderstorms both days.
