If you were planning to head to the beach today, two simple words: DON'T GO! Hurricane Irene is on the move and will impact weather along the Delmarva Beaches and inland to the D.C. metropolitan area.
The latest time frame is late Saturday into Sunday. Along with gusty winds, several inches of rain may fall on already saturated grounds. Tropical storm force winds may reach the District with winds at or above 45 miles per hour.
