High pressure across the mid-Atlantic will produce yet another beautiful day. Highs will be in the upper 70s to middle 80s.
This Afternoon: Mostly Sunny and Beautiful
Highs: 79°- 84° | Wind: North 5-10 mph
Tonight: Mainly Clear, Cool and Comfortable

Can't stand the sunshine, lower humidity and comfortable temperatures? Blame the large area of high pressure that will slowly move to the east over the next 24-hours. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 70s to middle 80s with overnight lows falling into the 50s to the north and west and middle 60s in the District. Parts of the Shenandoah Valley may fall into the 40s overnight.
With a change in wind direction tomorrow, it will start to feel more like August: warmer and more humid with afternoon temperatures in the middle 80s. A cold front will arrive late Thursday. Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, what is now Hurricane Irene may bring wet weather to parts of the ABC7 viewing area. The track continues to change and will do so over the coming days. If you have a beach holiday planned for the Outer Banks this weekend, you may want to start thinking of alternate plans.
