A break in the heat and some rain in D.C.

Some needed showers.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy, Lingering Showers

Lows: 71-76 | Wind: N 5 m.p.h.

Thursday: Mostly Cloudy, Humid but Not Too Hot

Highs: 85-89 | Wind: NE 5-10 m.p.h.

Friday: Partly Cloudy, Hot and Humid

Highs: Near 90 | Wind: ESE 5-10 m.p.h.

An area of low pressure continues to move through the region overnight with some lingering showers. This has been the first day since July 17 where temperatures have not reached 90 degrees or above at Reagan National Airport.

With east to northeast winds and plenty of clouds, on Thursday we will have the first back to back below-90 degrees days in almost three weeks. Heat and humidty return for the weekend with the risk of some afternoon storms, especially Sunday.
