An area of low pressure moving through a warm and unstable air mass has been responsible for the downpours and thunderstorms of the past few days. We will see more showers and thunderstorms in spots through late tonight. This system will move off-shore overnight. This will allow high pressure to start rebuilding throughout our area tomorrow. Although a brief shower is possible, skies will be partly sunny. Mostly sunny skies will return on Wednesday.
On Thursday and Friday, typical August weather is in our forecast. We are calling for partly cloudy, warm and humid days with highs in the upper 80s with a 30% to 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures may hit the 90 degree mark in a few spots on Friday afternoon.
