After a foggy start for parts of the region this morning, cloudy skies will be expected this afternoon with highs in the upper 70s. It has become a bit more muggy today as southerly flow takes over and some tropical moisture enters the region. Numerous showers have developed over North Carolina and southern Virginia and will move into our area later today. Tonight, expect the chance for showers and possibly even a rumble of thunder with lows in the 60s.
Thursday may start off a bit wet with showers possible in the morning, then cloudy skies in the afternoon with a chance for a stray thunderstorm. The best chance for heavy rain appears to be on Friday as another wave of energy moves over the area. Highs should reach near the 80 degree mark on both Thursday and Friday. For the weekend ahead, Saturday should start to see some improvements with a slight chance for a shower or storm. Sunday should be pleasant with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.
