TODAY: Mostly Cloudy, Scattered Showers (40%)

Highs: 76-81 | Wind: SE 5-10

OVERNIGHT: Few Showers Possible Patchy Fog

Lows: 65-70 | Wind: Light

TOMORROW: Partly Sunny, Mild, Isolated Afternoon Storm (20%)

Highs: 79-84 | Wind: NE 5-10

The remnants of Tropical Storm Lee have deluged the area with 4-9 inches of rainfall in spots yesterday, especially in Fairfax County. That caused numerous road closures and flash flooding and even school closings! The good news is that the rain diminished overnight to scattered showers, although some problems will continue this morning. With the ground so saturated even a moderate shower could lead to more flooding and that is why the Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through tonight.

We have a chance for showers today but conditions should continue to improve with just a 40% chance and highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees. A few peeks of sun are possible today, but the sun should finally return in earnest for the weekend, with partly sunny skies on both Saturday and Sunday. But, there will still be a chance for an isolated shower or storm in the afternoon hours as the remnant low still spins to the west.
