Brrrr! D.C. area shivers with Freeze Warning

A Freeze Warning is in effect for the entire D.C. area from Midnight to 9am Sunday morning.

Overnight: Freeze Warning, Mainly Clear and Cold

Lows: 28°-34° | Wind: NW 10-20 mph

Tomorrow Morning: Mostly Sunny and Cold

Temperatures: 30s/40s | Wind: NW 10-15 mph

Tomorrow Afternoon: Sunny, Cool and Breezy

Highs: near 50° | Wind: N 8-12 mph

The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled as a strong area of low pressure continues to move toward New York City and Boston. Skies will clear during the overnight hours as temperatures fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s. A Freeze Warning will extend until 9AM for the D.C. metropolitan area.

Expect a cold start Sunday with abundant sunshine. Highs will rebound to near 50 degrees during the afternoon hours. The average high for this time of year is 64 degrees. High pressure will bring a good deal of sun Monday with comfortable, yet cool temperatures. A slight chance for showers late Monday into early Tuesday morning will be limited to about 30 percent.
