An area of low pressure will move north towards the Mid Atlantic today, bringing added clouds and the chance for a few showers later this afternoon and evening. Highs should reach around the 70 degree mark. Tonight, expect periods of rain with some of the heavier and more steady rain to move into the region after midnight. Lows will fall into the upper 50s in the suburbs to lower 60s inside the Beltway.

Wednesday will continue to feature the chance for rainfall through the day, so be sure to bring a jacket and umbrella when you walk out the door tomorrow morning. Highs will be on the cool side, only reaching the upper 60s under otherwise mostly cloudy skies. Rain should come to an end Wednesday evening and Thursday should be pleasant with highs in the mid 70s under partly cloudy skies.

Another disturbance will move through the region Thursday night into Friday, bringing with it a reinforcing shot of cooler air and the chance for a few showers. Rain should come to an end by Friday afternoon, but the timing of this system isn't set in stone yet so stay tuned this afternoon and this evening for further updates. So far the weekend looks nice with sunny skies and cool temperatures in the 60s on Saturday, but warmer temperatures in the 70s on Sunday.
