An approaching cold front will keep the area overcast and soggy through the night and early morning hours. While most of the region will see a pause in steady rain through this evening, a large area of steadier rain will arrive tonight. There could be a few heavy downpours, as well. The front will cross the metro area tomorrow during the morning commute. The rain will come to an end around Noon. Behind the front winds will become rather gusty and skies will gradually become partly sunny. High pressure will settle into the region on Friday with bright sunshine and chilly temperatures. The weekend looks good…sunny skies are forecast for Saturday and partly sunny skies for Sunday. Temperatures will slowly moderate.
