Mostly cloudy today but plenty of sunshine to start the weekend

Clouds will exit this afternoon as high pressure moves back overhead for the weekend.

This Afternoon: Mostly Cloudy, Breezy, Clearing Late

Highs: Mid to Upper 50s | Wind: NE 10-20 m.p.h.

Tonight: Clear and Colder

Lows: Upper 20s to Lower 30s | Wind: N 10 m.p.h.

Saturday: Sunny and Cool

Highs: Lower 50s | Wind: NE 5-10 m.p.h.

A disturbance continues to head through the Carolinas today making for added clouds and cooler temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. A few stray showers will continue to be possible around Fredericksburg and south but they will come to an end around Noon. Winds will becomebreezy out of the northeast around 10 to 20 m.p.h. Skies will begin to clear later this afternoon and evening and tonight, clear skies will lead to colder temperatures filtering into the region with lows in the upper 20s to upper 30s. Winds will still be a bit breezy at times leading to some colder wind chills.

For the weekend ahead, high pressure will move over the region giving the Mid Atlantic sunny skies and diminishing winds. Highs on Saturday will be cool, only reaching the lower 50s. Sunday will see more in the way of clouds but highs will be a bit warmer in the mid to upper 50s.

Remember Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday morning at 2am, so be sure to turn those clocks back an hour Saturday night before you go to sleep. Be sure to change the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors as well.
