A frontal system lies over the region today which has continued to make for dismal and dreary conditions with cloudy skies and areas of light rain overhead. Expect the chance for showers through the remainder of the day with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Tonight, lows may actually rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s as the following cold front approaches from the west.
Heavy rain and a few thunderstorms may be possible during the early morning hours near the morning commute as the cold front moves through the D.C. area. Rain should begin to taper off by Noon tomorrow and skies will begin to clear by the afternoon. Highs should top out in the 60s ahead of the front and fall back through the 50s by the afternoon. Winds will also become gusty behing the front out of the northwest around 10 to 20 m.p.h. with some higher gusts.
Thanksgiving morning will be much colder with lows in the upper 30s but conditions will improve throughout the day with highs in the upper 50s under sunny skies. High pressure will hold through Friday and Saturday as well with temperatures around the 60 degree mark.
