Sunny skies and mild temperatures will highlight the day with highs in the lower 60s. Tonight will feature increasing clouds as an area of low pressure skirts by to the south. A stray shower is possible over extreme southern parts of the viewing area, mainly from Culpeper to Fredericksburg to far southern Maryland. Lows will be in the 40s.
Friday, skies will clear and winds will become breezy as this system exits off the east coast. Northwesterly winds should be around 10 to 20 m.p.h. at times through the morning before diminishing in the afternoon. High temperatures will also be cooler, only reaching the upper 50s.
The weekend ahead is expected to be a bit cooler with an easterly flow helping to bring in cooler temperatures off the ocean. Highs Saturday will only manage the lower 50s under mostly sunny skies. Sunday, a few added clouds are to be expected with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
